Victorian Newel Post, Walnut Newel Post, Turned Newel Post, Round Newel Post 020401

A classic turned newel post, from what we believe is walnut (species of wood is not guaranteed), salvaged from a late 1800s staircase prior to demolition. This elegant post features an square base with a gorgeous turned top. This piece has been cut out at the base to fit a step as shown in the photos. There are marks in the finish around the edges and wear in the finish which is typical for a piece of this age. The partial handrail section can be removed before installation; these are typically held on with a threaded rod and bolt. Please see all of our pictures for details. 
  This antique turned newel post measures 44 1/2” tall, roughly 6 3/4” across the base, and 6 3/4” across the top. The base plinth is 10 3/4" tall on its own and the handrail is 3 1/4" wide. This post ships free within the continental US. No PO boxes please.
