A massive and stunningly designed dark hardwood mantle from the Burnham Mansion of Champaign, Illinois. This mansion was designed by the world renowned Burnham and Roost architecture firm of Chicago ca. 1884. This mantel was originally situated in a corner so the very back edges of the shelf are cut at an angle as pictured although this, except for those beveled corners, would sit flush against a wall as well. There are some small pieces of base trim missing on the left side of the mantel where the top section meets the mantel shelf. It does come apart in two pieces; the top section and bottom mantel separate.
This large mantle measures 76 7/8" wide by 56 3/8" tall by 16 3/4" deep across the bottom section. The top section measures 69 5/8" wide by 71 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" deep. The opening on the bottom section measures 50" wide by 44 1/4" tall by 7 3/8" deep. The upper opening measures 33 3/8" wide by 41 5/8" tall. Please see all of our pictures for details. This item ships free within the continental US. Please allow 2-3 weeks processing time.
