A charming Victorian era newel post with the original finish and beautiful turned finial on top. Although there are imperfections as pictured, this piece is sturdy and would be an excellent period appropriate addition to any Victorian restoration or a charming feature in a new-build. The bottom is a rough cut and will need a clean cut to be installed straight or could be built up on a base to increase height. There are small scuffs and marks in the surface of this piece that is consistent with age. 
This antique newel post measures approx. 46 1/2" tall by 4 1/4" square at the main post. The larger plinth on top under the ball finial is 5 1/2" wide. Please see all of our pictures for details and condition of this item.
