A charming Victorian era newel post with the original finish and beautiful turned finial on top. Although there are imperfections as pictured, this piece is sturdy and would be an excellent period appropriate addition to any Victorian restoration or a charming feature in a new-build. The bottom is a rough cut and will need a clean cut to be installed straight or could be built up on a base to increase height. There are scuffs and marks in the surface of this piece that is consistent with age. The shellac is alligatored as shown.
